Anxiety Attack Treatments

I am so glad to say that I found a treatment for my anxiety attacks that worked quickly and easily and gave me back my life. Click here to find out how I overcame my panic disorder.

When I visited my doctor about my anxiety attacks, she suggested medication, either tranquilisers or anti depressants. But I prefer to take as little as possible in the way of medicines, and will choose a natural approach if I can.

This means I tried things such as relaxation techniques where you learn to meditate and use breathing exercises to relax your muscles and relieve tension. Correct breathing is also meant to ease hyperventilation, a symptom of panic attacks caused by rapid breathing.

The other options for anxiety treatment are cognitive or behaviour therapy. Cognitive therapy means changing your beliefs by listening to your thoughts and changing the fears and beliefs that you have that are not helpful in your life. For instance, if you have trouble in social situations, you could change your belief to “everyone wants to be my friend”.

Behaviour therapy is a course of treatment that exposes you to your fears in an attempt to desensitise you to your fears. You start with your least threatening problem and analyse what exactly it is that you are afraid of. I found both cognitive and behavioural therapy too difficult to undertake by myself with no support.

Panic Away by Barry Joe Mc Donagh teaches you how to break the cycle of anxiety, you know, how even the thought of having a panic attack brings one on. What are my options if my bf has an panic attack? He hasn’t had issues since I met him (11 months now), but in the past he has tolerated a lot due to anxiety, and he still takes medicine. A lot of stuff has been going on now (looking for a house, grad school, etc…) and even though I believe he’ll be just fine, he might get anxious, or have an panic attack. What could I do?
