I am so glad to say that I found a treatment for my anxiety attacks that worked quickly and easily and gave me back my life. Click here to find out how I overcame my panic disorder.
When I visited my doctor about my anxiety attacks, she suggested medication, either tranquilisers or anti depressants. But I prefer to take as little as possible in the way of medicines, and will choose a natural approach if I can.
This means I tried things such as relaxation techniques where you learn to meditate and use breathing exercises to relax your muscles and relieve tension. Correct breathing is also meant to ease hyperventilation, a symptom of panic attacks caused by rapid breathing.
The other options for anxiety treatment are cognitive or behaviour therapy. Cognitive therapy means changing your beliefs by listening to your thoughts and changing the fears and beliefs that you have that are not helpful in your life. For instance, if you have trouble in social situations, you could change your belief to “everyone wants to be my friend”.
Behaviour therapy is a course of treatment that exposes you to your fears in an attempt to desensitise you to your fears. You start with your least threatening problem and analyse what exactly it is that you are afraid of. I found both cognitive and behavioural therapy too difficult to undertake by myself with no support.

There are actually a range of problems that are called anxiety disorders. There is panic disorder this is probably what I was suffering from.
Social anxiety disorder which is where you suffer from anxiety specifically when you are in a social situation of some kind. This could include going to a party, going to a class or even just going to work if there are a number of people there.
Phobias are the fear of either a certain situation or a certain thing. Some of the more well known phobias are aerophobia – the fear of flying, arachnaphobia – the fear of spiders, or Nyctophobia – fear of the dark. Many phobias defy logic, you know the fear makes no sense but you still cannot stop it from happening. My friend Evie has a phobia about lizards, she knows they cannot hurt her but it does not stop her from being scared of them!
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is anxiety that relates specifically to an event in your life. This could be a war, rape, physical or sexual abuse, kidnap or a car accident. PTSD can lead to physical symptoms such as sweating and rapid heartbeat, nightmares, and the feeling of the event being re-enacted.
Anxiety disorders of any kind can be very distressing and can lead to your life being shut down completely. They can stop you from flying, driving, socializing, working or even going out of your house.
You can overcome these panic and anxiety disorders, I did, and in the end it was far easier than I could have believed was possible. I am only disappointed that it took me so long to find a solution. Click here to see how I finally beat my anxiety problems.

I had my first panic attack at work. Our whole department was doing one of those “team bonding” things and we were all sat in a big circle. Each person was telling us a little bit about themselves, what they were working on, how they came to be working for this company etc. As each person spoke, as it came nearer and nearer to me my heart just started beating faster and faster, I started to get hot and sweaty, I was finding it hard to breathe and eventually I had to get up and run out of the room! I told my colleagues that I felt sick (I didn’t mention the anxiety attack) and I went home. I actually went to my doctor, and it was then that I found out I had just experienced my first panic attack!
From then on my fear of public speaking developed into a general fear of going to work (well, you never know when you might have to speak in front of people do you?) and I had to give up a job I really loved. I had had mild anxiety before, I had been through the fear of dying thing during my late teens and I was also scared of flying – but not enough to stop me going on holiday! My only phobia was bats but you can easily manage to avoid them!
But this was something different – this was affecting my whole life. I couldn’t go to work anymore, and not only did I enjoy working, but to be quite honest, we needed the money! My husband was very patient – to begin with, but even he began to lose patience when the symptoms of my panic attacks carried on for months and months and seemed to be getting worse and worse.
I started to get frightened of just going out of the house ( agoraphobia ? ) and even driving – which I used to love started giving me anxiety. In fact that was when I decided I had had enough. It was just getting ridiculous, not being able to go to work and now not being able to drive my car! Like most people these days I started searching for answers on the internet, and like most people these days I treated everything I read with a good dose of cynicism.
There were a few reasons that made me try Panic Away. The man who created it, Barry Joe Mc Donagh was a panic attack sufferer himself, so he knew what we all go through. There was an eight week period that you could try it for and still get a refund (and it was sold through Clickbank which I knew is a big and reliable company) Also, there was a free newsletter that you could subscribe to and just reading that made me feel like I had found the answer to my panic disorder and it would all be all right.
